We are located in the
north-east coast of the island of Corsica at 30km of Bastia, 16
nautical miles of Capraia and 30 of Elba island, a sea-side resort with
a big marina (580 berths) on the verge of a beautiful valley towered by
the Town of Rogliano, which visit is highly recommended, due to its
rich historic past.
At only 200 mts from the residence, you can find the beach with white
sand and transparent, turquoise waters, surrounded by green maquis.
To the north, the beach gives way to a hill, after which lies the tower
of "Santa Maria", which calmy lies in the water.
How to get there...
Once in Macinaggio, and after having passed the yacht and fishermen
harbour, one arrives directly to the grounds of Stella Marina; However
a second access can be found, conveniently signalised.
Right next to Stella Marina, you will be able to enjoy all sorts of
entertainment, from horse riding to trekking, boating, scuba diving,
fishing, tennis, and so on…
Historical facts
It was from Macinaggio, 1571, that the vessels
captained by Ambroise Negroni de Rogliano, departed to combat the
Muslems in the famous battle of Lepanto.
After their victory, they put a term for over 50 years, to all the
raidings and plunderings, practised by the turks all over the
Mediterranean and Corsica.
On July 13th 1790, Pascal Paoli disembarqued on this port after 20
years of exile in England.
Upon reaching land, he knelt and kissed the ground of this beloved
island.

In the proximities of Rogliano and Macinaggio, there are numerous ruins
of castles, convents, churches; as well as many noble residences, and
noble family burial sites of the villagers, which counted of more than
4.000 in the 17th century. |
